“The Thirty-Nine Steps” inspired shoot


Euan Myles, the talented photographer behind the award winning Scotch Beef Campaign, asked Chris to recreate scenes from the critically acclaimed “The Thirty-Nine Steps” written by Scottish author John Buchan.

The book was the first of five novels featuring Richard Hannay, the all-action hero with a stiff upper lip and a miraculous knack for getting himself out of sticky situations. The novel formed the basis for a number of film adaptations, most notably: Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 version of the melodrama.

The espionage trail took Chris onto the hills and moors of Southern Scotland to pay homage to the author.

Chris recently flew into Scotland to shoot the latest editorial campaign for a leading men’s magazine.

The vintage shoot includes some amazing styling from top Scottish menswear specialist, Greg Milne.

Highlight of the day was most definitely the surprise appearance from a local army regiment who also participated in the shoot.
